History
Our story
ACB aims at building capacity to Reduce Human Poverty, and is currently working in Uganda providing capacity building programmes that contribute to the improvement of community livelihoods.
ACB’s Vision: A nation where all communities enjoy a better standard of living
Mission: To enhance the capacity of communities and service providers through:-
- Designing and implementing people centred community development interventions aimed at alleviating poverty
- Building strong organizations to effectively and efficiently deliver development services
Our Values: ACB believes that;

Goal: Strengthened capacity of poor communities and service providers to reduce human poverty.
Objectives:
- To enable poor communities sustain the environment, combat HIV/AIDS and promote human rights.
- To build and strengthen the capacity of service providers for improved service delivery to the wider community.
- To conduct research that enhances sustainable development
Achievements
- Provision of clean water facilities at Luzira, Kitintale, Nakawa and Banda Markets and at Kiswa Health Centre, and Butabika Hospital in Nakawa Division of Kampala District. (Funded by East African Breweries Limited (EABL) Foundation and Diageo Foundation)
- Provision of clean water facilities at Kampala Dispensary and Maternity Centre in Central Division of Kampala District. (Funded by EABL Foundation and Diageo Foundation)
- Development for community-Local Government Linkages through Sanitation Upgrading in Kisenyi III Parish, Kampala District. (Funded by French Embassy in Uganda)
- Trained staff of Build Africa Uganda (BAU) in HIV/AIDS Mainstreaming
- Trained Integrated Community Efforts against AIDS (ICEA) clientele organizations and resource persons that provided psycho-socio support to vulnerable children, in ‘Coping to Change’ a training that aimed to enable them cope with difficult situations and other challenges of life especially those affected and infected with HIV/AIDS
